Aleathia Brown native of both Harlem & The Bronx Graduated Fiorello LaGuardia High School of Music & Art for Fine Art and earned her BFA at the School of Visual Arts for Media Arts and Art Education with a minor in Graphic Design. Aleathia is listed with The National Museum of Women in the Arts Archives. Ms. Brown continues to mark her place in history.
The fall of 2018 was a new chapter, I took a lifelong dream trip to Parisand London.I participated in the Works on Paperexhibition at the Brick Lane Galleryin East London performed at the Poetry Society in Covent Garden, on return to the States I began creating new works on burlap preparing for Art Basel/Art Week at the Wynwood Convention Center exhibitingwith the Red Dot Group/Spectrum MiamiDecember 5, 2018. December 29 2018launched my first self published Coloring Pack entitled Coloring and Timeat the American Museum of Natural Historyfor the Kwanzaa Festival where I’ve exhibited my artwork and art novelties since 2010. He was Dating my Hairis a live recorded audio story that I shared at the Bronx Museum of Artfor theMothStorySLamwhich has been archived in another version at the City Hall of Records archival department as an Official New York Storycurrently my revised version was featured on the Moth Story-Hour on their NPR Radio show, podcast and website from November 11, 2018 to present. Fall 2017 I was commissioned to Create, Art Direct and Paint a 3 wall mural I am Harlem Located on the exterior walls at the Infinity Mennonite Church2522 Adam Clayton Powell blvd. MyLive Artis spontaneously painting in front of an audience usually accompanied by Spoken Word Artist & Live Musicians. I studied with the Harlem Theater of the Oppressed at the Riverside Church, completed a 4 week program with The Moth Storytelling coaches to enhance my message of art through story. I have been a member of the Harlem Arts Alliance & BDA (Black Dimensions in Art in NYS). Slideshow Presentations include the Queens Museum of Art and the Grand Army Plaza Brooklyn Public Librarywith attention to my specialty paintings onpaper towels.
