About Tsion Cafe
Long-time residents of Harlem, we are committed to the growth of a healthy Harlem community. We opened Tsion Cafe and Bakery to provide our neighbors with healthy, delicious cuisine, fusing Ethiopian and Mediterranean flavors, along with a selection of international wine and beers, fair trade Ethiopian coffees and specialty teas, served with delicious home-baked pastries.
“First and foremost, we wanted to create a space in the neighborhood that provides a healthy and delicious alternative to Sugar Hill residents.”
But our commitment to the community extends far beyond the food. Sugar Hill is one of Harlem’s most famous landmarked districts. Once home to W. E. B. Du Bois, Duke Ellington, Cab Calloway, Ruby Dee, Ralph Ellison and George Gershwin, among others, this vibrant community has long served as a hub for the arts and entertainment.
We are committed to honoring that heritage by providing a space for regular arts events, including live music, poetry nights, film screenings, a writers series – and more. Check our calendar or give us a call to find out what’s going on. Or just drop by to enjoy a drink on our beautiful, fern-filled deck.
We look forward to welcoming you soon.
